Foam stabilisers
Foam stabilizers are modified polysiloxanes, which have proven their value for this application. Depending on the type of modification the silicone surfactants show different properties that are adjusted to the demands of various PU-foams.
Foam stabilizers are important for the production of Polyurethane foams. The thermodynamically instable state of the foam during the rising process until the hardening must be stabilized by surface strength. This is done by a reduction of the surface tension, while they also act as emulsifiers for the whole system.
