Re-dispersible powder polymers
Chemical composition
Re-dispersible powder polymers are spray-dried polymer dispersions. They are dry, free flowing powders with good storage stability. They re-disperse when given into the water for the production of cement or plaster.
Function
Re-dispersible powder polymers improve the properties of cement and plaster. Before setting they reduce the water demand and result in simplified handling and increased processing time.
After setting they effect:
- better adhesion to the substrate
- increased flexibility
- increased cohesion
- improved elasticity
- decreased porosity
Use
Due to their high bonding capacity and their special properties the re-dispersible powder polymers can be used in many applications:
- sealants
- façade coatings
- tile adhesives
- joint sealer and adhesives for plasterboard
- lime plaster
- adhesive mortar
- wall mortar
- mineral plaster
- repair mortar
- self-leveling compounds
- filler
- wallpaper paste
- upgraded insulation
